22-Feb-18 Pediatric Strangulation, Part 2 Instructors Diana Faugno and Val Sievers Webinar Through The Strangulation Institute Click here for More Information This webinar will further review the unique challenges faced by healthcare professionals and investigators when evaluating or investigating the occurrence of strangulation in the pediatric population. We will discuss differences in anatomy, mechanism of injury as well as signs and symptoms that can be present in a child or adolescent who may have been strangled. An in- depth case study that reviews outcomes of multiple episodes of strangulation will be analyzed and finally, current, clinical tools and resources for evaluation and documentation will be identified for use in patients who have been acutely or non-acutely injured. Objectives 1) Discuss the gaps in current literature that addresses strangulation in the pediatric population. 2) Review differences in anatomy, mechanism, symptoms & findings that may be present in a child or adolescent who has been strangled. 3) Identify clinical tools and resources available for evaluation of the patient who has been strangled. 4) Analyze a case study that includes a history of multiple episodes of strangulation in a pediatric patient.
